The Distance Between Your You & You

Interrogate its complicity with the status quo
Between the labor exploitation & the fabulous poet lies a touch of bruise peninsula
Mood muddies distinction from interior & exterior
To be here & present & still unable to articulate experience
Baffles like when the sales clerk cautions less duck face, more ruffle
We shrug & simply put one foot in front of the other
Perhaps parlance to pathetic but in a pile of dead leaves the perception of text
The unspoken language is what remains — a courtship of death in natural setting
The task continues to trouble: to touch a lot of people a little or touch a few intensely
The distance between your you & you
